From Planting to Harvest 2018: Growing the MSFW Talent Pool (Webcast)

The migrant and seasonal farmworker (MSFW) population is on the upswing and Michigan Works! Agencies and Talent Investment Agency staff are key to connecting them to opportunities here in Michigan.   

This training will provide a comprehensive overview of all aspects of the MSFW program, as well as effective outreach practices for connecting with migrant and seasonal farm labor to meet Michigan’s needs.

Training topics will include:
  • Roles and responsibilities,
  • Service definitions,
  • Processing job orders and H-2A job openings and applicant pools
  • Outreach worker communications
  • Language barriers - the applicant pool is Spanish-speaking and your employer is English-speaking. Learn how to meet the demands of employers in this situation.
