Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) / Trade Readjustment Allowances (TRA) FY 2019 Updates (Webinar)

Subsequent to the issuance of PI 18-43, (TAA FY19 TAA Allocations) and USDOL Comprehensive Monitoring visit conducted in September, the Workforce Development Agency TAA staff will present a training webinar hosted by the Michigan Works! Association on Monday, January 28, 2019. 

The training is intended for all staff who serve TAA participants, especially those who issue Waivers of the Training Requirement, TAA training determinations, conduct Benchmark Reviews, process program exits, and those who oversee TAA activities. 

Please encourage all staff to be in attendance and utilize Case Management funding for this purpose.

The training will cover:
  • Overview of changes outlined in PI 18-43- FY19 TAA Allocations
    • Allowable Case Management expenditures
    • Normal commuting area
  • Waiver of the Training Requirement
    • Issuance
    • Revocation - notification to TRA Unit
    • Extensions
    • Reviews
  • TAA Training Benchmarks
    • 60-day review requirement
    • Collection of progress and participation
    • How to attempt benchmark reviews when training provider is unresponsive
  • TAA Program Exits
  • Completion of the TRA Application
  • Determinations and Appeals
