Trade Training Summit - Mt. Pleasant

As the saying goes, “If the shoe fits, wear it.”  If you relate to any of the following, this one-day Trade training has been designed for you:

  • Do you find the multitude of trade laws confusing…TAA, TGAAA, TAAEA, and TAARA?
  • Are you responsible for Trade-funded programming but have not served a Trade-certified individual in the last 3 months, 6 months, one year or longer?
  • Is the Trade program a new responsibility for you?
  • Do you need help navigating the 148-page Trade manual?
  • Do you need to have an understanding about TRA to assist customers to utilize their workforce services most effectively?
  • Do you have questions about what constitutes a Trade training service (OJT, Occupational training, ATAA, RTAA, or how apprenticeships are viewed under trade)?
  • Do you want to improve your organization’s data validation pass rate?
  • Do you want to improve the outcomes of your programmatic reviews and learn what is cited most during the reviews?
  • Do you have questions about service coordination between WIOA Dislocated Worker and Trade?

The impact of America’s trade/tariff policy has the potential to increase unemployment and Trade certifications. There may not have been a trade certification in your area in a very long time….yet, a Trade-certified individual could present themselves for services at any Michigan Works! Agency at any time. This event will sharpen your skill set and better prepare you to serve this population when needed.

This training is appropriate for everyone: Experienced staff will have the opportunity to get answers to their unique questions or situations … New staff will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the program parameters and to learn from the dialogue of experienced staff … WIOA staff will have a better understanding of coordinating services between Dislocated Worker and Trade (Hint: It isn’t limited to what program registered them first).
