Governor Snyder’s Budget Outlines Support for Workforce Training and Education

Upskilling Michigan's Workforce a Top Priority

LANSING (February 7, 2018)—Luann Dunsford, CEO of the Michigan Works! Association released the following statement in response to Governor Snyder’s budget proposal:

“We support the Governor’s continued focus on worker training through the Skilled Trades Training Fund (STTF) - one of the most successful training programs developed by the State.

Through the state appropriation for STTF, fiscal year 2017, Michigan Works! has leveraged $219.7 million, trained over 8,000 people and created over 2,500 new jobs and nearly 600 new USDOL Registered Apprentices.
