This Webinar series is designed to help you in your interactions with your customers and how to care for yourselves in these uncertain times. WEBINAR 3 -Title and Description:

A World of Trauma: Managing Stress and Safeguarding Mental Health During a Pandemic

This webinar addresses the very real threats of burnout and vicarious trauma that front-line staff are facing and offers tools and coaching for self-care. Participants will learn the warning signs of burnout and vicarious trauma as well as the effects of stress on mental and physical health. The importance of setting professional boundaries will be explored, specifically within the context of working from home. A wide range of self-care strategies to manage stress and promote mental health will be discussed. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own needs and create a self-care plan of action.

Key Objectives:

  • Define the terms burnout and vicarious trauma and list warning signs for both
  • Explain the importance of setting professional boundaries physically and emotionally, especially when working from home
  • Identify the effects of stress on mental and physical health as a front-line staff during a public health and economic crisis
  • Describe strategies to mitigate stress, enhance self-care, and safeguard mental health
  • Develop a personalized plan for maintaining mental health and managing stress
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
  • MW Staff - frontline on up.
  • Anyone working during the COVID-19 pandemic, or living with someone who is working.
