The Power of Recognition

Description

Explore the impact of positive recognition, practice crafting messages for people when it’s easy, recognize those you struggle with, learn how to change your mindset for a “positive upward spiral”, and notice the impact of that change on your recognition skills. This session has no prerequisites and is open to anyone.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand how recognition messages benefit those around you and your own emotions

  • Practice creating meaningful recognition messages

  • Understand how to create positive sentiment override

  • Develop a plan for delivering recognition messages

  • Consider the benefits for you, your workplace, and your community

This session is a deep dive session of some of the material covered during "Communication Skills You Can Use: Listens Training." This is a great opportunity to refresh and increase the skills learned during the training or a sneak peak at the Listens training, if you have not taken it!

Meet Your Trainer

Jill Wright, Facilitator Development & Systems Leader for The Chapman Foundation for Caring Communities

Jill began facilitating with the Chapman Foundation for Caring Communities in 2017. As a senior facilitator, she has led nearly 40 in-person classes and numerous virtual workshops helping hundreds of people find the courage to care in their workplaces, homes, and communities. Recently, Jill expanded her role with the Chapman Foundation as Facilitator Development and Systems Leader where she will continue to help facilitators and learners “strengthen relationships, align teams, and build stronger communities.” Prior to working with the Chapman Foundation, Jill spent more than 15 years raising money for various non-profit organizations that provided research, experiences, and education for the people those organizations served.

Jill, her husband, and two young sons live in Charleston, South Carolina. Jill believes that one of the most impactful ways she can serve the greater good is by raising her sons to be confident, empathetic, and resilient adults.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing up to seven (7) business days prior to the training to receive a full refund. Cancellations received less than seven (7) business days prior to the training will be invoiced, and payments will not be refunded. No shows will be billed. Substitutions are welcomed.
