The Legislator of the Year award recognizes a lawmaker who has shown by deed, actions and accomplishment the steadfast advocacy of Michigan Works! and/or a Michigan Works! Agency (i.e., support of program funding, sponsored new legislation, excelled in grassroots advocacy, demonstrated leadership in advancing public policy goals, etc).
The Michigan Works! Association honored U.S. Representative Tim Walberg, State Senator Mary Cavanagh and State Representative Nancy Jenkins-Arno its 2025 Legislators of the Year for their advocacy and support for workforce development and the Michigan Works! system.
