Apprentice Success Story

In 2022, Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium worked with over 9,500 individual job seekers and over 1,200 employers throughout Northeast Michigan, filling over 5,400 jobs for $171 million in wage impact. They helped to train over 350 people in local growth industries, have helped train 16 employees via Incumbent Worker training assistance, and have helped 34 employees receive training thanks to the On-the-Job Training Program. Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium also secured over $90,000 in Going Pro Talent Fund awards to help 8 Northeast Michigan businesses upskill their workers to keep their companies competitive. In addition, they worked with 23 local companies to hold 26 talent tours for over 400 students, hosted over 1,400 students from 22 schools at their annual MiCareerQuest Northeast hands-on, career exploration event, and served 242 at-risk youth via one-on-one services.
